Conflicts on the Horizon

The Trump presidency has started with a bang, as the President is far more confident and far more active than he was at the start of his first term.  Trump is quickly assessing the limits of his power with Congress, testing America’s allies to see how far he can push them, and even pushing the boundaries of America geographically with his blunt efforts to purchase Greenland and rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.  With the backdrop of a Trumpian imperialism, the markets have so far remained nonplussed. During the first week of “President Trump Round II,” the stock market remained strong, posting new all-time highs with gains of nearly 4%  in January.
